The blue building symbolizes the combined efforts of the Provincial Government and the Miles For Smiles Foundation. Child Abuse Prevention is a community responsibility and we all have a role to play in protecting our children.
When a case of child abuse makes it to the news we are shocked and want to blame the abuser, and rightly so, but we should also look at the child’s circle for red flags that may have been missed. As neighbors, school teachers, doctors, aunts, uncles, grandparents, coaches…etc, we all have a moral responsibility to speak out when we suspect a child is being abused. We need to be vigilant and share in this responsibility, future generations depend on it.
